Cross points, head-to-head and the playoff format, and only one scenario actually flips it.
The PCS region has two Worlds slots this year and four teams left in the playoffs. We put the points and head-to-head records into one table, and the picture is cleaner than it looks.
The first seed has already secured direct qualification. Three teams are playing for the last ticket.
The only scenario that flips it
The second seed qualifies with a single win in the semi-final. The real variable is third and fourth: they have to win two rounds back to back, and one of those is a Bo5.
Across the last three splits, the number of times a fourth seed has run it all the way in the PCS playoffs is zero. Not impossible. Just not yet done.

Both matches are Saturday from 3pm with Chinese-language broadcast. The team Taiwanese viewers care about plays the second one.
